The 2024 NBA Draft Lottery, sponsored by State Farm, took place at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, and the winner was the Atlanta Hawks.
In the NBA Draft 2024 presented by State Farm, which takes place on Wednesday, June 26 (First Round) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and Thursday, June 27 (Second Round) at ESPN's Seaport District Studios in New York, the Hawks will be selected with the first overall choice.

The Hawks, who ended up 36-46 and were 10th in the Eastern Conference, struck gold despite a just 3% chance. They lost to the Chicago Bulls in the opening round of the So-Fi Play-In Tournament after dropping their last six regular-season games.
General manager Landry Fields exclaimed, "It was a shock," and was beaming from ear to ear as deputy commissioner Mark Tatum declared the Hawks the champions. "My initial impression was that we weren't the ones who put us in the top four between positions 10 and 12. Okay, we really have a chance of winning this, I thought. Lots of excitement mixed with a hint of surprise.
Although it's unclear who will be selected first since Victor Wembanyama was San Antonio's apparent choice in the previous year's draft, Fields can develop with the first pick.
At 14%, Washington and Detroit had the best odds of taking the number one choice. Only four clubs have ever won the lottery with less chances than Atlanta; Orlando, with 1.52% in 1993, was the largest longshot. The Magic and Golden State pulled off a spectacular draft night transaction in which the Magic sent Chris Webber's rights to the Warriors in exchange for Penny Hardaway's rights and three future first-round picks.
