Shiloh, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's kid, requests to have her father's last name removed.

Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has filed a lawsuit to formally sever her ties to her father.

In order to remove the "Pitt" from her full name, Shiloh filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, the day she turned eighteen. As per the petition that The Times examined, the teenager, whose full name is now Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, wishes to adopt the name "Shiloh Nouvel Jolie."

The Times contacted a representative of Jolie, but they did not immediately provide a response. Pitt's spokesperson remained silent over the petition.

On May 27, 2006, Shiloh was born in Swakopmund, Namibia. She is the eldest of the three biological children born to the former Hollywood power couple and the third oldest of their six children overall. They also have twins, Knox and Vivienne, as well as children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.

The voice actress for "Kung Fu Panda 3" asked to have her name changed during the difficult and protracted divorce of her parents. Days after reportedly getting into a violent argument with her "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" co-star on a private jet returning from Europe, Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016. An FBI report claims that several of the actors' kids were also allegedly involved in the incident. In a lawsuit she filed against the federal law enforcement agency in 2022, Jolie revealed details of the 2016 altercation.

Additional legal disputes about Jolie and Pitt's Chateau Miraval winery and previous family home have complicated the settlement of their protracted divorce. Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie and her business, Nouvel, in February 2022, claiming that she had sold her portion of the vineyard without his ostensible approval in order to "seize profits she had not earned and returns on an investment she did not make."

In October 2022, Jolie retaliated with a cross-complaint. Her legal team filed a motion earlier this year to obtain Pitt's correspondence based on a purportedly "all-encompassing" nondisclosure agreement related to the sale.

Although they haven't finalized the terms of their divorce, Jolie and Pitt have been legally single since 2019.

Shiloh could be the first Jolie-Pitt kid to file a lawsuit to change her name, but several of her siblings have also changed their last name in public in recent years. Zahara is audibly introduced as a Spelman College sorority member, Alpha Kappa Alpha, in a film released by Essence in 2023. She yells, "My name is Zahara Marley Jolie," in between each position.

Furthermore, as People revealed last week, 15-year-old Vivienne omitted "Pitt" off her Playbill credit for the brand-new musical "The Outsiders," which her mother produced.
