 Pune Porsche crash: two Sassoon Hospital doctors are arrested, and the government appoints a three-person panel

The committee's chairwoman will be Dr. Pallavi Sapale, dean of Grant Medical College and J J group of hospitals, according to an order signed by Medical Education Commissioner Rajiv Nivatkar on Monday.

The 17-year-old's Porsche car was discovered in Pune without a license plate.

A three-person commission has been established by the Maharashtra government in response to the detention of two physicians and a staff member of Sassoon General Hospital in Pune about the purported manipulation of the blood sample of the minor driver implicated in the Porsche collision.

The committee's chairwoman will be Dr. Pallavi Sapale, dean of Grant Medical College and J J group of hospitals, according to an order signed by Medical Education Commissioner Rajiv Nivatkar on Monday.

The other members are Dr. Sudhir Chowdhary, a Special Duty Officer at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Government Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital, and Dr. Gajanan Chavan, a professor in Grant Medical College's forensic medicine department.

On Tuesday, the committee is requested to travel to Pune.

Additionally, the commissioner has instructed Dr. Vinayak Kale, the dean of Sassoon General Hospital, to follow the directive and assist the committee in the investigation.

Pune Police detained Dr. Ajay Taware, the chief medical officer of Sassoon Hospital, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, the head of the department of forensic medicine, and Atul Ghatkamble, a staff member who works under Dr. Taware. They were placed in police remand until May 30. 

Two medical professionals from Sassoon General Hospital, Drs. Shrihari Halnor and Ajay Taware, are detained by Pune Police on suspicion of tampering with blood samples and destroying evidence related to an automobile accident involving a 17-year-old kid.
