Crime Branch To Look Into Pune Porsche Crash, Father Of Teen Driver Arrested

Two persons were killed instantaneously after the 17-year-old's fancy Porsche collided with a motorcycle, according to police accounts.

The incident happened in Pune's Kalyani Nagar neighborhood in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Pune: Pune Police from Maharashtra's Aurangabad have taken into custody the father of the 17-year-old boy who was engaged in a deadly car accident that claimed the lives of two people. The incident happened in Pune's Kalyani Nagar neighborhood in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta were killed instantaneously when their luxury Porsche, driven by a 17-year-old, collided with a motorcycle, according to police reports. CCTV footage of the collision showed the automobile was moving in a restricted lane at an estimated 200 kmph.

The Pune Police's crime branch has now taken up the matter. Pune police have prosecuted the boy's father under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act and are awaiting a decision from the sessions court. These sections deal with giving intoxicating substances to a juvenile and deliberate neglect of a child, respectively.

IT engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta were riding back from a get-together when the speeding Porsche struck their bike from behind at 2:15 in the morning. They both passed away right away.

Amitesh Kumar, the Commissioner of Police in Pune, claims that the young driver of the vehicle was celebrating his class 12 results at a nearby bar when the collision occurred. In Maharashtra, the legal drinking age is 25, hence serving him is against the law. As a result, the bar owners are also prosecuted for providing alcohol to underage customers.

Strong public outcry has followed the event, especially after the Juvenile Justice Board decided to grant the kid bail only 15 hours after he was arrested. A 300-word essay on road safety, a de-addiction program, and mandatory counseling were among the rehabilitative requirements that the board set. Considering the seriousness of the disaster, many have criticized this accommodating approach.

Pune police have petitioned the sessions court to try the minor as an adult in reaction to the bail ruling. This action is based on the conviction that the seriousness of the offense calls for more stringent judicial review. "We have not forgotten what happened yesterday. Since it was a horrible crime, we have taken action under section 304 of the IPC, which is not subject to bail," Commissioner Kumar stated.

In addition, the tavern where the kid was seen drinking has been sued by the police. The owners are facing harsh charges for their part in the horrific events that transpired by giving the little youngster alcohol.

Additionally, CCTV footage that the police have access to demonstrates the car being driven at a very high pace.
