Trainee IAS Officer Pooja Khedkar

The mother of IAS trainee officer Pooja Khedkar threatens farmers with a gun.

The video, which is believed to be at least a year old, features Pooja Khedkar's mother Manorama Khedkar berating a man—likely a farmer—verbally while holding a pocket gun.

IAS officer Pooja Khedkar is from the 2023 batch.

More skeletons emerged from the Khedkar family's vault the day after the Center formed a panel to investigate trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar. The video tape showed her mother threatening a farmer in Pune over a land dispute and brandishing a revolver.

The video, which is believed to be at least a year old, features Manorama Khedkar, Ms. Pooja's mother, angrily abusing a man—possibly a farmer—while brandishing a pocket gun. In the two-minute clip, Ms. Manorama and the bouncers are shown fighting with the farmer over who owns a piece of property in Pune's Mulshi tehsil.

"Show me the land records, or saatbara." Even though the man insists that the land is in his name, Ms. Manorama can be heard yelling at him in Marathi, "The documents of this plot of land bear my name."

Then the guy says that the case is pending in court. In response, Ms. Manorama can be heard cautioning the man against "teaching her the rules."

"This property is in my name, even though you might be the true owner. So what if the matter ends up in court?" I'll watch to see how you handle things. She may be heard stating, "I am not afraid of anyone."

Retired government employee Deelip Khedkar, the father of Ms. Pooja, is accused of accumulating property valued at crores and buying land in multiple locales, including a 25-acre plot in Mulshi taluk, Pune.

Farmers reportedly begged the police not to file a case against Ms. Manorama for her haughty behavior, but the police allegedly ignored their requests.

But now that Ms. Pooja is under investigation, the Pune Rural police have chosen to look into the video clip. According to officials, they have taken notice of the footage and are gathering information about the case. Authorities stated they would look into Ms. Manorama's handgun ownership license, but her attorney verified that she was in possession of one and that, on the day of the dispute, she had purportedly carried it for "safety."

The 32-year-old Ms. Pooja, an IAS officer from the 2023 batch, gained notoriety when it was revealed that, prior to taking over as assistant collector, she had requested special treatment, including a separate office, housing, car, and staff—benefits not granted to trainee officers. While on probation in Pune, she allegedly faked a mental ailment to obtain a disability certificate, appeared for the UPSC exam under the visually impaired category, and utilized a "Government of Maharashtra" sticker and a red-blue beacon on her private luxury automobile.

A one-member committee was established by the Central government on Thursday to look into the situation surrounding Ms. Pooja's candidacy.

Ms. Pooja, who was moved from Pune to Washington because to the accusations, told reporters today that she was not authorized to comment on the subject. "I have no authority to speak with the media. I'll present my proposal to the committee. "I'll adhere to the protocol," she declared.

In the meantime, Ms. Pooja allegedly attempted to exert pressure on a Deputy Commissioner of Police-rank official to free a guy detained in connection with a theft case, according to a report filed by the Navi Mumbai Police with the Maharashtra government. The incident happened on May 18 at the Panvel police station. It is reported that Ms. Pooja called DCP Vivek Pansare and urged him to free a transporter who had been detained in connection with theft.

According to reports, Ms. Pooja informed Mr. Pansare that Mr. Uttarwade was innocent and that the accusations against him were "minor." To their credit, Mr. Uttarwade remains in judicial detention for the claimed offense, and the police did not respond to the call.

In a related development, the automobile that Ms. Khedkar is accused of installing the State government emblem on without permission was removed from the family's Pune home today after she received a warning from the local traffic police. The trainee IAS officer was fined more than Rs. 27,000 for violating traffic laws.
